Transfer to the city of Turkmenabat with a stop at the legendary Asian river, the Amu Darya (Oxus).
After checking into the hotel and having lunch, the group will visit the Amul Fortress, where they will climb the citadel and explore the fortress walls.
On this day, after a 150 km journey, we will arrive at the most unique caravanserai in Central Asia - Dayahatyn (12th century), untouched by Genghis Khan and Timur, where we will take a tour. After lunch, we will travel along the legendary river - Amu Darya (Oxus) for another 80 km and reach the fortress with the mausoleum of Dargan-Ata, a pilgrimage site for thousands of Turkmenistanis. By evening, we will return to Turkmenabat.
In the morning, our group will head to the city of Mary to visit the capital of the Seljukids - Ancient Merv. On the way, detouring 20 km off the official roads into the desert, we will be able to visit the Seljuk-era caravanserai - Akcha-Kala, located on the old caravan route from Merv to Bukhara. By evening, we will arrive at the hotel in the city of Mary.
Throughout the day, we will explore the cities of Ancient Merv - Alexandria Margiana (Erk-Kala), Seleucia Margiana (Gyaur-Kala), Sultan-Kala - the capital of the Seljuk Empire, Abdulakhan-Kala, Bairam-Ali-Kala, and of course, visit the unique mausoleum of Sultan Sanjar, one of the greatest Seljukids, the mausoleum of Muhammad Ibn Zaida and Khudaynazar Ovlya, also from the Seljuk period.
In the morning, we will visit one of the most beautiful mausoleums of this period - Talhatan-Baba (12th century), as well as the Medrese with 40 domes. After lunch, we will explore the History Museum, which has a rich collection of Seljuk period artifacts. Overnight at the hotel in Mary.
On this day, we will head north from Mary to visit the largely unexplored Seljuk mausoleums - Geok-Depe. Overnight at the hotel.
On this day, we will travel to the Serakhs region near the Iranian border, where we will visit the mausoleums of Serakhs-Baba (Abul-Fazl, 12th century) and Yarty-Gumbez (12th century). After lunch, our guide will assist with all formalities at the border crossing.
